Its been a bit quiet recently, that's because I've been out on the road looking for work.
Getting gigs is no easy feat, you have to convince people that they want to book you - and they likely already have a plethora of their favourite acts that they have in regularly. So what can you do to stand out from the crowd? Well, I like to steal a phrase from Neil Gaiman here, be nice, be reliable and be good at what you do... And that's how I strive to be every day.
I am lucky enough to be re-booked for most of the gigs I go out and do, you will start to recognise some of the place names on my gigs page if you're keeping up to date. I also have been approached about a few other projects, setting up a band for bigger corporate gigs (which I am in the process of doing!) and some one off comedy songs as well, which certainly sounds fun and interesting! I've also been approached (don't laugh) to do a 'tasteful' semi-naked photoshoot for images for a book for breast cancer research, which is a terrifying prospect for me but I think will be empowering... we shall see!
So many things going on, and still more are sought... I better get back out there!
